Our client is a growing international business with products manufactured in China and shipped to customers and distributors across the UK, Europe, the US and other global markets.

They’re now looking for an International Import & Logistics Coordinator to join their team and take ownership of the journey from factory floor to customer door.

And there’s plenty to keep you busy!
🚢 What will you be doing? You’ll be the key link between factories, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers and customers, making sure everything gets where it needs to be, when it needs to be there.
Your day-to-day will include:

• Managing imports from China into the UK, EU, US and other international markets
• Coordinating FCL/LCL sea freight and air freight
• Booking shipments with freight forwarders, customs brokers and shipping lines
• Preparing and checking commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin and customs documentation
• Making sure products have the correct HS/commodity codes and calculating duties, VAT and landed costs
• Keeping on top of import regulations, tariffs, trade agreements and rules of origin
• Managing different Incoterms including FOB, CIF and DDP
• Working closely with the China team and factories to coordinate collections, container loading and order accuracy
• Tracking shipments from China through to final delivery and keeping Sales and Customer Service updated
• Jumping in when shipments hit a customs hold, inspection or unexpected delay and getting things moving again
• Coordinating parcel and pallet deliveries through carriers such as DHL, FedEx and UPS
• Checking freight and duty invoices and keeping an eye on logistics costs
• Looking for opportunities to improve processes and reduce unnecessary shipping and import costs
• Keeping shipping and customs records accurate and up to date

In short, you’ll be the person making sure the wheels keep turning!
🌍 What are they looking for? This isn't just about booking shipments. Our client needs someone who understands international imports and knows how to make things happen.
You'll ideally have:

• 2+ years' experience in international shipping, freight forwarding or import logistics
• Hands-on experience importing goods into multiple countries
• Experience shipping from China or the Far East
• A solid understanding of customs, HS codes, duties, VAT and Incoterms
• Experience with both sea and air freight
• Experience dealing with freight forwarders and customs brokers
• Good knowledge of UK import requirements, with EU and US experience highly desirable
• Strong Excel skills and confidence using shipping, logistics or freight-forwarding systems
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to keep multiple shipments moving at once
• Great communication skills and a "I'll sort it" attitude when something doesn't go to plan!

Experience within consumer goods, retail or another fast-moving international environment would be a big plus.
