IT Manager

Role Overview
Lead the IT function across infrastructure, applications, security, vendors, and strategy. This is a hands-on leadership role in a small, multi-skilled team — ideal for someone who can balance technical depth with people management and operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of six across infrastructure, applications, integration, and reporting.
Oversee servers, networking, cloud services, end-user devices, backups, monitoring, and incident management.
Maintain documentation, manage risk, and ensure systems are secure and recoverable.
Own application development, maintenance, and integration, working closely with internal stakeholders.
Lead information security, policies, controls, and compliance (including UK GDPR and Cyber Essentials).
Manage vendors, contracts, licences, SLAs, and renewals.
Build and deliver an IT roadmap aligned to business goals.
Manage the IT budget and contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
Essential Experience
Proven leadership of an IT team or function.
Strong hands-on technical background across infrastructure, networking, and business applications.
Vendor and contract management experience.
Solid understanding of information security and UK GDPR.
Clear communicator able to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences.
Track record of delivering IT projects on time and within budget.
Strong organisational and documentation skills.
Desirable Experience
Azure, AWS, or GCP.
ITIL or similar frameworks.
Experience in operations-led or professional services environments.
Relevant certifications (CISSP, ITIL, Microsoft, AWS).
Cyber Essentials / CE+ experience.
