A key account role where the job is keeping pace with a fast-growing account, not defending a flat one.

£42,000-£47,500 + 10% bonus

We're supporting a fresh produce business with the appointment of a Key Account Manager.

You'll lead the day-to-day commercial relationship with a major UK grocery account that is growing quickly. You'll also support the development of a second large retail account where the business has significant plans.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage an account from a distance. You'll be close to the buyers, the numbers and the operation.

It would suit someone who enjoys the pace of fresh, is comfortable with data and wants real ownership of a growth account.

• Lead day-to-day commercial relations with the customer, building strong relationships with buyers and wider stakeholders.
• Manage pricing, promotions, product set-up and account reporting.
• Monitor account performance and identify opportunities to grow sales.
• Work closely with planning, supply chain and operations so availability and service keep up with growth.
• Support the development of a second major retail account alongside the lead account.

You'll have account management or commercial experience working with UK grocery customers, ideally in fresh produce, food or FMCG. Fresh experience would help but isn't essential.

The business is also open to someone earlier in their career who is ready to take the lead on an account, as long as the commercial instincts are there.

What matters most is confidence with customers, a commercial and analytical approach, comfort working with data, and the organisation to manage several priorities at once. You'll need to communicate well with both the customer and internal teams.

This is a growth account. The relationship you'll lead is growing quickly, so the work is about building rather than holding position.

You'll also work on a second major retail account while the business is putting a lot of effort into it. That's valuable experience at this stage of an account management career.

The package is £42,000-£47,500 plus 10% bonus.
