Job Title: Laboratory Technician Assessor
Salary: £30,000–£34,000
Location: Hybrid / Remote with National Travel across England

Our client is looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Laboratory Technician Assessor to support and inspire apprentices throughout their learning journey, helping them achieve their full potential while ensuring outstanding quality and compliance.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine your technical laboratory expertise with your passion for training, coaching, and assessment in a flexible hybrid role with travel across England.
About the Role
As a Laboratory Technician Assessor, you will deliver high-quality workplace assessment and learner support to apprentices, ensuring excellent progression, achievement, and successful completion of apprenticeship programmes.
The Laboratory Technician Assessor will work closely with learners, employers, tutors, and internal quality teams to deliver a consistent, engaging, and compliant learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
What They Are Looking For:
Essential
✔ Industry-relevant qualification at Level 3 or above (e.g. City & Guilds / BTEC or equivalent)
✔ Assessor qualification (TAQA/A Units or equivalent), or willingness to work towards
✔ Significant experience in a laboratory technician or scientist role
✔ Experience assessing or evaluating work against set standards
✔ Strong understanding of Health & Safety, Safeguarding, and Equality & Diversity
✔ Evidence of recent Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
Desirable
✔ Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification
✔ Experience working within apprenticeship delivery
✔ Understanding of Ofsted inspection framework
✔ Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 and Matrix Standard
✔ Experience using e-portfolio systems such as Smart Assessor, OneFile or Bud
Additional Information:
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and requires regular travel across England.
