Lead Electrical Engineer

We are hiring for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join an engineering team for a highly reputable FM provider to work on a Financial Services contract within walking distance of Liverpool Street Station.
The Role
The Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing leadership, technical guidance, and operational oversight to a team of engineers. You will ensure maintenance operations run smoothly, safety standards are maintained, and contractual service levels are consistently achieved or exceeded.
Working closely with senior management and operational teams, the Lead Electrical Engineer will ensure that engineering services are delivered proactively while maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and support a team of engineers, ensuring operational commitments and service levels are met
Take responsibility for Health & Safety compliance across the engineering team and managed sites
Oversee the operation of the Permit to Work and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) systems, ensuring full compliance with safety procedures
Manage and monitor subcontractors, ensuring all works meet contract standards and approved RAMS
Plan and manage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules to ensure efficient workload distribution
Ensure all plant maintenance is completed in line with manufacturer guidelines
Maintain accurate asset registers and ensure all equipment is labelled correctly
Ensure all maintenance activity is recorded accurately within the computerised maintenance management system
Provide technical support to engineers, helpdesk teams, and stakeholders
Investigate and report on operational incidents when required
Ensure reactive callouts are attended and resolved efficiently
Support contract administration teams to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
As the Lead Electrical Engineer, you will also conduct annual appraisals, support the professional development of engineers, and play a key role in driving performance and continuous improvement.

We are seeking a confident and experienced Lead Electrical Engineer who can combine strong technical ability with effective team leadership.
Essential Requirements:
Strong background in electrical building services maintenance
Minimum 5 years experience in an facilities management environment
Experience working in a supervisory or Lead Electrical Engineer capacity
Solid knowledge of PPM systems, compliance, and statutory regulations
Experience managing contractors and engineering teams
Strong understanding of Permit to Work and LOTO procedures
