Learning Support Assistant
Prospero Teaching is recruiting a motivated and supportive Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils in the Andover area. This role involves assisting teachers in the classroom and providing additional support to pupils who may need help with their learning, confidence, or engagement.
You will play an important role in helping pupils stay focused, participate in lessons, and build positive learning habits. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, depending on the needs of the school and pupils.
This is a varied and rewarding position, ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and supporting their progress.
The Role:
- Support teaching and learning within the classroom
- Provide 1:1 support and assist with small‑group work
- Help pupils stay engaged, focused, and confident
- Support behaviour and encourage positive routines
- Assist with classroom activities, lessons, and resources
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Contribute to a calm and inclusive learning environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people
- Patient, supportive, and confident in a classroom setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptable and able to respond to different needs
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Backgrounds in childcare, youth work, coaching, or education welcomed
- Graduates seeking experience in schools encouraged to apply
Contract Details:
- Position: Learning Support Assistant
- Location: Andover
- Start Date: ASAP
- Working Pattern: Full‑time, term‑time
- Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.66 per hour
- Key Stages: Primary / Secondary
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- Experience working with children desirable
- SEN experience beneficial but not essential
- Safeguarding training can be provided
