Job Description:

Local Business Development Manager – Automotive – Ipswich

£30,000 basic salary plus commission | Monday to Friday | 42.5 hours per week

ACS Automotive is recruiting for a Local Business Development Manager to grow fleet sales for a premium automotive brand. Based at a dealership fleet hub in Ipswich, you’ll take responsibility for an agreed sales territory, building relationships with local businesses and helping them choose the right vehicles for their needs.

This role would suit an established automotive LBDM or an experienced dealership Car Sales Executive looking to move into business-to-business sales. You’ll have dedicated fleet sales support, a clear process for managing enquiries and access to manufacturer training.

What you’ll be doing

• Prospecting for new business across your territory and building relationships with business owners and fleet decision-makers.
• Understanding how each business uses its vehicles, then presenting and demonstrating suitable models and discussing relevant products.
• Managing enquiries from first contact through to quotation and order, with support from the fleet team.
• Building a professional online presence and using social media to start conversations and generate new sales opportunities.
• Working towards individual sales volume and quality targets while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
• Reviewing prospecting activity, pipeline and sales performance, and reporting progress to the LBDM Manager.

What we’re looking for

• Extensive car sales experience within a dealership or previous business development experience in automotive vehicle sales is essential.
• Confidence approaching businesses, speaking with decision-makers and uncovering vehicle requirements.
• Experience managing a sales pipeline, following up on quotes and converting enquiries into orders.
• Confidence using social media professionally to identify prospects and build relationships.
• The initiative to manage your own territory and the ability to work closely with the wider fleet team.
