Our client is a leading specialist engineering and infrastructure solutions provider, delivering mission-critical mechanical, electrical, and water treatment solutions for complex, large-scale infrastructure projects across Europe. With an established track record in the European Hyperscale Data Centre sector, they specialise in end-to-end delivery-from offsite fabrication and modular skids to on-site installation, integration, and commissioning.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced M&E Project Manager to lead and take full accountability for work packages on major hyperscale data centre projects across Finland, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands.
In this role, you will take commercial, technical, and operational ownership of mechanical and electrical packages, overseeing project delivery from pre-construction through to final commissioning and client handover. You will act as the key client interface on-site, driving progress across offsite modular manufacturing, supply chain management, subcontractor control, and on-site integration.
Key Responsibilities

- Commercial & Financial Management: Take ownership of project budgets, cost forecasting, variations, monthly valuations, and profit margins in close collaboration with the commercial team.
- Stakeholder & Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for main contractors, client representatives, external consultants, and internal project execution teams.
- Offsite & On-Site Programme Management: Oversee the integration of offsite pre-fabrication/modular skids with on-site installation, ensuring critical path milestones and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) are met.
- Subcontractor & Procurement Oversight: Drive procurement strategies, manage MEP subcontractors and equipment vendors, and ensure robust risk management and RAMS approval processes.
- Commissioning & Handover Management: Direct pre-commissioning, testing, commissioning, and validation activities alongside specialist commissioning teams to ensure seamless client handover.
- HSEQ & Quality Control: Enforce a strict zero-harm safety culture and guarantee compliance with high-level hyperscale data centre quality standards.
Key Requirements
Essential:
- Passport / Eligibility: Must hold a valid EU Passport (required for frictionless deployment across EU project sites).
- Sector Experience: Proven track record working as an M&E / MEP Project Manager delivering hyperscale data centre projects or similar mission-critical environments.
- Rotational Commitment: Willingness to work a 10/4 rotation pattern across European site locations (Finland, Germany, Spain, Netherlands).
- Technical Qualifications: Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or Project Management.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial background, including experience managing substantial M&E work package budgets, NEC/FIDIC or JCT contracts, and change management processes.
Desirable (Nice to Have):
- Experience managing packages involving process mechanical infrastructure, cooling water systems, reverse osmosis (RO), filtration, or water treatment plants on data centre campuses (water-specific experience is not required, but beneficial).
What Is Offered
- Highly competitive salary and executive benefits package.
- Comprehensive travel, accommodation, and allowance cover for site rotations.
- Hybrid work-from-home flexibility during non-site rotation periods.
- Clear opportunities for career growth within a rapidly expanding European data centre division.
