Job Description:
6 Month FTC
A leading global manufacturer within the chemical and agricultural sector is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role will support production continuity during an exciting period of expansion and site transition following significant investment into a new manufacturing facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a well-established production environment with the potential for longer-term opportunities.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance across the site
- Responding safely and efficiently to equipment breakdowns
- Following Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety policies and Permit to Work systems
- Supporting plant reliability and contributing to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements
- Assisting with operational continuity during site transition activities
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- NVQ Level 3 minimum in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
- Experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Knowledge of relay logic and PLC fault finding
- Experience working with fluid-transfer pumps including centrifugal and progressing cavity pumps
- Understanding of LOTO, PUWER, and LOLER regulations
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Good IT skills and experience using CMMS systems
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts as required
Desirable Skills & Experience
- IPAF 3B licence
- Welding and fabrication experience
- COMAH site experience
