Maintenance Technician
Sunderland
Rotational 2-shift pattern
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Sunderland. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a high-performing Operations Support Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive and reactive maintenance support across site equipment and facilities
- Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
- Analyse equipment failures and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers on process improvements and changes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment uptime enhancements
- Liaise with external contractors when required
- Maintain safe working practices, particularly when working at height and with complex systems
Technical Requirements
- Experience working with:
- Industrial robots (e.g. Fanuc / Universal)
- Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Conveyor systems
- Strong PLC fault-finding and programming skills (Siemens S7 / TIA preferred)
- Solid electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability
- Minimum 16th Edition Electrical Regulations (or equivalent)
About You
- HNC/ONC Level 3 in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience) desirable
- Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role, ideally within a fast-moving manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings
