Mechanical Contracts Manager – Commercial Fit Out

We are working with an established MEP contractor specialising in commercial fit-out projects, who are looking to appoint a Mechanical Contracts Manager to oversee a team of Project Managers delivering projects across London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager who is ready to take the next step into Contracts Management, or an established Contracts Manager looking for a new challenge.

Projects typically range from £200k to £1.5m, predominantly within the commercial office fit-out sector.

The Role

As Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will oversee a team of Mechanical Project Managers, providing support and direction across multiple live commercial fit-out projects.

You will retain overall responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and to programme, whilst acting as a senior point of contact for clients and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of Mechanical Project Managers.

• Provide leadership, guidance and technical support across multiple projects.

• Oversee commercial fit-out projects ranging from £200k – £1.5m.

• Monitor project programmes, budgets and commercial performance.

• Ensure projects are delivered to programme, specification and client expectations.

• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

• Attend client and project meetings.

• Review project progress and identify commercial, technical and programme risks.

• Support Project Managers with procurement and subcontractor management.

• Oversee variations, valuations, applications and final accounts.

• Ensure high standards of health & safety and quality are maintained.

• Mentor and develop Project Managers within the business.

• Work closely with the senior management team to ensure successful project delivery.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Building Services professional with a strong background in commercial fit-out.

You could currently be an experienced:

• Mechanical Project Manager

• Senior Mechanical Project Manager

• Mechanical Contracts Manager

If you're a strong Mechanical Project Manager who has successfully delivered commercial fit-out projects and feels ready to step up, this role could be an excellent opportunity.

You'll need:

• Strong mechanical building services experience.

• Proven experience delivering commercial fit-out projects.

• Experience managing projects from approximately £200k – £1.5m.

• Strong commercial and contractual awareness.

• Excellent client and subcontractor management skills.

• The ability to manage and support multiple Project Managers.

• A desire to progress into a senior management position.
