The Role:
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll contribute to the design and development of state-of-the-art machinery and automated systems. This varied role involves working closely with clients to deliver bespoke automation solutions, from conceptual design to project delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing conceptual designs and creating detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings in line with industry standards.
• Collaborating with customers to refine solutions, ensuring that each project meets specific requirements.
• Producing accurate bill-of-materials and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
• Working with cross-functional teams to obtain necessary approvals and ensure designs meet customer specifications.
• Occasionally visiting client sites, which may require overnight stays.

The Person
You’ll need a strong background in mechanical engineering, with at least 2 years of experience in designing automated machinery

• A mechanical engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND, Degree, etc.)
• Min 3 Years Experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer or similar role
• Experience in designing any of these - Special Purpose Machinery, Conveyors, Material/Mechanical/Bulk Handling Equipment, Heavy Engineering/Fabrication or similar related products or industries to these
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks is preferred) is essential, and familiarity with PDM Vault and ERP/MRP systems is highly beneficial.
• A hands-on approach to testing concepts and solving complex design challenges.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
