If you're an experienced
M&E Project Manager,
Mechanical Project Manager,
Building Services Project Manager or
Mechanical Contracts Manager who's beginning to think beyond simply delivering the next project....this could be one of the more interesting opportunities you'll come across this year.
We're recruiting for an established
engineering-led M&E contractor (ยฃ14m+ turnover) specialising in
Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC and Building Services projects across commercial property portfolios.
Unlike many M&E contractors, they don't spend their lives chasing main contractor packages.
They work directly with
end-user clients, corporate property owners and major
Facilities Management (FM) providers, delivering repeat Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC projects across multi-site portfolios.
Think more
CBRE-style delivery than traditional subcontracting but with much less red-tape!
ย
The opportunity Initially you'll take responsibility for an existing portfolio of live Mechanical & Electrical projects, inherited clients and secured work.
But that's only the beginning.
The longer-term plan is for you to build, grow and ultimately lead your own business unit.
You'll have the freedom to develop client relationships, generate new opportunities, recruit Project Managers beneath you and build a profitable division with the backing of an established business.
It's a genuine route towards becoming
Head of Projects or
Business Unit Director.
Not because someone retires.ย Because that's the plan.
Typical projects include
- Mechanical & Electrical (M&E)
- HVAC installations and upgrades
- Mechanical plant replacement
- Electrical infrastructure
- Building Services refurbishment
- Energy improvement works
- Commercial office fit-outs
- Healthcare
- Education
- Hotels
- Industrial and logistics facilities
- Multi-site property portfolios
We'd like to speak with
- Senior M&E Project Managers
- Mechanical Project Managers
- Electrical Project Managers
- Building Services Project Managers
- Mechanical Contracts Managers
- Senior Contracts Managers
- Operations Managers
- Experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineers looking for the next step
You'll probably have experience working with:
- End-user clients
- FM providers
- Managing agents
- Corporate property portfolios
- Commercial property
- Mechanical & Electrical projects
- HVAC projects
You'll also understand that successful projects are built just as much on client relationships as they are on programmes.
The type of person You probably started life as an engineer before moving into project management.
- You're commercially aware.
- You enjoy building relationships.
- You've built a decent network over the years.
- You know how to win trust.
- And you've reached the point where you'd quite like more influence over the direction of a business instead of simply delivering the next project someone else won.
ย Worth adding..
- This isn't a pure delivery role.
- It isn't a business development role.
- It isn't an Operations Manager role.
- It's a rare opportunity to combine all three.
- You'll still be involved in delivering projects, but you'll also help shape the future of the business, develop new clients, grow turnover and build your own team.
- You'll have the backing of an established company, existing clients, marketing support, operational infrastructure and experienced leadership.
In other words...
Someone else has already taken the biggest risks.
You get to build the exciting bit.
ย
Salary is flexible, plus a genuinely meaningful bonus linked to the success of the business unit you're helping to build.
If you're an ambitious
M&E Project Manager,
Mechanical Project Manager,
Building Services Project Manager or
Mechanical Contracts Manager looking for something with genuine long-term potential, I'd be happy to have a confidential chat.
