Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join a leading main contractor delivering large-scale data centre and industrial projects across the UK.

The Role:
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction team, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical packages across a range of major projects.

This role will be based from the Head Office which is around 20 minutes drive from Heathrow. You will need to be based within a reasonable commute of the office as well as being flexible to travel for client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates from first principles through to tender stage
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Engage with supply chain partners to obtain and evaluate quotations
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
• Collaborate with design, commercial, and project teams during bid submissions
• Support the development of tender strategies and cost plans

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within construction or MEP contracting
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, ideally within large-scale or complex projects (data centres experience beneficial)
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Commercial awareness and strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
