Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer

£500 - £550 PER DAY | OUTSIDE IR35 | BEDFORD

We're looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity in Bedford.

If you have a strong background in mechanical systems, industrial plant, machinery and complex engineering projects, this could be your next assignment.

THE DETAILS

• £500–£550 per day

• Bedford
  
  
• 5 days per week on site
  
  

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Taking technical ownership of mechanical engineering projects.
  
  
• Maintaining, upgrading and improving existing plant and machinery.
  
  
• Leading refurbishment and upgrade programmes.
  
  
• Designing and introducing new mechanical systems.
  
  
• Troubleshooting breakdowns and resolving complex engineering issues.
  
  
• Managing projects from design through to installation and commissioning.
  
  
• Working with suppliers, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  
  

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  
  
• 5–10 years' relevant industrial engineering experience.
  
  
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and industrial machinery.
  
  
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating machinery, compressors or cooling systems.
  
  
• Experience delivering engineering projects and managing design changes.
  
  
• CATIA, MATLAB or similar software experience would be beneficial.
  
  
• A proactive engineer who can take ownership and drive solutions through to delivery.
