An opportunity has arisen for experienced
MEP Project Engineers (one mechanical, one electrical) to join a major civil engineering joint venture delivering a significant section of the HS2 programme in Buckinghamshire.
The joint venture has completed approximately
10 miles of tunnelling and associated civil engineering works, running from South Buckinghamshire into the Chilterns. With the main tunnelling works completed, the project is moving into the next phase, including the installation of mechanical, electrical and building services infrastructure.
The project includes
seven shafts and headhouses, and we are looking for MEP Project Engineers to oversee the MEP subcontractor and act as the key link between site operations and the project office.
The Role Working closely with the Lead MEP Project Manager, you will provide day-to-day management and supervision of MEP installation activities across the project.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design Coordination: Review technical drawings, align shop drawings, and resolve clashes between mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural, and structural layouts.
- Site Supervision: Oversee day-to-day on-site MEP installations to ensure work matches project specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
- Procurement Support: Prepare material and equipment requisitions, evaluate vendor quotations, and track delivery schedules to avoid delays.
- Testing and Commissioning: Assist in scheduling and running functional tests, pressure checks, and system handovers.
- Quality and Compliance: Document contract variations, log on-site inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance (such as UK Building Regulations)
About You We are interested in speaking with
MEP, Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Project Engineers with experience delivering complex construction projects.
Previous rail experience is not essential. Candidates from major building services, infrastructure, commercial construction, industrial or similarly complex project environments are encouraged to apply.
You should have strong site-management skills, a practical understanding of MEP installation and the ability to manage subcontractors effectively.
