Who are we looking for?

Due to continued growth within the department, Burton and South Derbyshire College are looking for talented and passionate individuals from the Motor Vehicle industry to join our professional and high-performing team.

This position is available for experienced and qualified teachers looking for a new challenge or those from industry, but no teaching qualification interested in a career in education. Due to the diversity in opportunities, all permutations will be considered and can be discussed at interview.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking, learner centred department, committed to developing the next generation of technicians.

The successful candidate will deliver, assess and monitor students enrolled on Level 1, 2 or 3 programs, support and facilitate student learning: liaising closely with the Curriculum Team Leader, other Course Leaders and Management. Key focuses involve industry knowledge, leading by example with regards to attitudes and behaviours, achieving impressive outcomes and delivering engaging sessions.

The college is looking for individuals who have working knowledge and industry experience of Motor Vehicle systems and technical maintenance, ideally up to Level 3, but other qualifications will be considered.

In addition to the “Golden Hello”, technical related CPD qualification(s) and/or teaching qualification(s) will be funded by BSDC. There is also the possibility of additional bursaries based on individual candidate circumstances.

If you feel you have the skills, motivation and understanding for this role, we would love to hear from you.

Applicants should be qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths. Evidence of qualifications is required.
