📌 Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
📍 Aberystwyth
💰 £40,000 to £48,000, depending on experience

Yolk Recruitment is representing an established and well-invested food manufacturer in the search for an electrically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for a permanent days-based shift. You will work a consistent 4 on, 4 off patterns from 10:00am to 10:00pm, joining an experienced and supportive engineering function within a busy manufacturing environment. There can be some flexibility around start and finish times at weekends, where agreed by the engineering team.

• Provide reactive engineering support to keep high-volume production equipment running safely and efficiently
• Complete planned preventive maintenance across production and site services equipment
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, carrying out effective repairs to minimise disruption
• Work with equipment including processing machinery, pasteurisation systems, boilers, and associated utilities
• Support basic plumbing, mechanical strip-downs and general engineering activities when required
• Record and manage maintenance activity through a computerised maintenance management system
• Make the most of planned production downtime by completing maintenance, repairs, and equipment improvements
• Work closely with another engineer on shift and communicate effectively with production and wider site teams
• Follow robust health, safety, hygiene, and food manufacturing procedures always

• Electrical training or qualifications, supported by practical mechanical maintenance capability
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electrical Engineer or similar
• Confidence fault-finding and repairing industrial machinery
• Experience completing both planned and reactive maintenance
• Manufacturing experience, ideally gained within food, beverage, FMCG, pharmaceutical or another regulated production environment
• A practical, inquisitive approach and the willingness to develop new technical skills
• The ability to work safely in and around production machinery, including accessing confined or awkward equipment areas
• Experience with boilers, processing equipment, pasteurisation systems, or industrial utilities would be beneficial, but is not essential

This position offers a particularly attractive shift pattern for engineers who want the benefits of a 4 on, 4 off schedules without switching between days and nights. Your standard hours will be 10:00am to 10:00pm, giving you predictable working days and substantial time away from work.

You will be joining a site with experienced lead engineers, strong engineering coverage and a culture that takes health, safety, and fatigue management seriously. The business operates an established engineering structure, with engineers supported by lead engineers and engineering management.

The wider package includes:

• Salary from £40,000 up to £48,000, reflecting your current skills and experience
