National Sales Director | Electrical Distribution & Building Services

UK National | £100,000 to £120,000 + 30% Bonus + Car Allowance + Benefits

An opportunity to lead a £100m National Sales operation, managing a team of 30 across Electrical Distribution, Commercial & Industrial and Social Housing markets.

We're recruiting for an established UK ventilation manufacturer, part of a major international PLC, seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead commercial strategy, strengthen national customer relationships and drive growth across three established sales channels.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll have significant commercial responsibility, leading 5 direct reports and approximately 25 indirect reports, with the opportunity to influence the future direction of an established UK business.

We're particularly interested in senior sales leaders with strong electrical distribution experience, established industry relationships and a proven ability to manage complex commercial agreements across national wholesalers, independent distributors and buying groups.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead national sales strategy across Electrical Distribution, Commercial & Industrial and Social Housing channels, influencing approximately £100m in annual revenue.
• Manage and develop a national sales organisation of 30 people, driving performance, accountability and commercial growth.
• Strengthen relationships with major distributors, electrical wholesalers, buying groups and strategic customers.
• Lead negotiations on national supply agreements, pricing, rebates and long-term commercial partnerships.
• Identify opportunities to increase market share, develop key accounts and expand routes to market.
• Drive specification-led sales opportunities, from early project engagement through to installation.
• Manage sales budgets, forecasting, pipeline performance and revenue targets across multiple channels.
• Use commercial data, market intelligence and CRM insights to improve sales effectiveness and decision making.
• Collaborate with senior leadership, operations and product teams to align commercial strategy with business objectives.
• Develop opportunities across Social Housing, including public sector frameworks and strategic partnerships.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven leadership experience as a Sales Director, National Sales Director, Commercial Director or equivalent senior sales professional.
• Strong electrical distribution experience, with an established understanding of national wholesalers, independent distributors and buying groups.
• Significant experience managing national sales teams across multiple channels or regions.
• Demonstrable success delivering revenue growth and developing commercial sales strategies.
• Strong industry credibility, with established relationships across the electrical distribution or associated building services markets.
• Experience negotiating major commercial agreements, pricing structures, rebates and supply contracts.
• Understanding of specification-led sales and technical product distribution.
• Strong financial and commercial awareness, including forecasting, budgeting and data-led decision making.
• The leadership ability to develop high-performing teams and operate effectively within a large, established business.

Desirable Experience

• Experience within Ventilation, HVAC, M&E or associated Building Services products.
• Knowledge of Social Housing, public sector frameworks or housing association procurement.
• Experience managing multi-brand or multi-channel sales operations.
• Previous experience within a major manufacturing business or PLC environment.

Summary & Package

Position: National Sales Director

Location: UK National, ideally Central UK, with flexibility to travel as required

Duration: Permanent, full time

Reporting To: Managing Director

Basic Salary: £100,000 to £120,000, depending on experience

Bonus: 30%

Car Allowance: £7,500 per annum
