Part-Time Order Picker & Packer Position Details:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4-hour shifts (20 hours per week)
  • Shift options: 17:00 - 21:00 OR 18:00 - 22:00
• Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Order Picker/Packer to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in ensuring that customer orders are prepared accurately and delivered on time. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a keen eye for detail, and works well independently or as part of a team. Responsibilities of a Picker & Packer

• Efficiently pick and pack items from inventory for customer orders, ensuring order accuracy and quality standards.
• Use inventory systems to locate and track products for fulfillment.
• Inspect items for damages or defects and report issues promptly.
• Follow packing guidelines to ensure secure packaging and correct labeling of orders.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in the picking and packing areas.
• Assist with restocking and receiving inventory as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the team to meet timelines and resolve discrepancies.
• Adhere strictly to company safety procedures and operational policies.

Qualifications

• Experience: Prior experience in a warehouse, order picking, or packing role is a plus, but not mandatory. Full training provided.
• Essential Skills:
  • High attention to detail for accurate order fulfillment and quality assurance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Physical stamina with the ability to handle tasks that may include standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying items up to 15kg/33lbs (specific weight requirement).
• Additional Skills (Preferred): Familiarity with handheld barcode scanners or inventory systems is a bonus but not required.
• Language: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Day-to-Day Tasks for a Picker & Packer

• Start shift with a team briefing to align on tasks and goals.
• Use handheld scanners or work orders to locate, pick, and prepare items for shipment.
• Package items according to safety and quality standards.
• Meet daily objectives for accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels and report low stock items.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and assist in preparing the area for the next shift.
