P&D/HV Power Construction Manager – Rail

£ neg day rate (inside IR35)

Our client is currently sourcing a P&D/HV Power Construction Manager for their rail project based in Manchester on a long-term contract basis (inside IR35)
The main purpose of the role is to lead the delivery of plant and distribution works for rail substation projects and support the P&D team in delivering allocated contracts safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with legislation, company procedures, and contract requirements.
Other responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all P&D construction activities on rail substation projects
- Take ownership of site delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
- Plan and coordinate installation activities including methodology, sequencing, and resource allocation
- Develop and manage construction programmes
- Monitor progress and implement corrective actions where required
- Oversee installation of plant and distribution systems including switchgear, transformers, cabling, earthing, and associated equipment
Skills/Experience required
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager within P&D / rail power infrastructure
- Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety)
- OLEC1 Qualification
- Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards and processes
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and complex site operations
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience delivering rail substation or power infrastructure projects (desirable)
- COSS (desirable)
- Level B substation access(desirable)
