We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Information Governance Officer (Transport) to join our Information Governance team.
As our Principal Information Governance Officer (Transport), you will play a vital role in providing specialist information governance support for major transport projects across the Combined Authority’s Transport programmes, projects and functions, ensuring the Combined Authority meets its legal obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR, Freedom of Information Act (FOI) 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004.
You will be working closely with colleagues in Transport to provide a customer focussed, high performing and proactive information governance service, providing expert advice to officers on information management, exemptions/exceptions under FOI/EIR understanding and applying the public interest test and providing expert advice on data protection law.
Our team operates in a fast-paced environment with a focus on compliance and delivery.
This post is subject to vetting clearance.
Due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will be subject to relevant vetting checks at the appropriate level and any job offer will be conditional subject to successful vetting clearance. Applicants should be aware that it is not possible to make meaningful vetting enquiries in many jurisdictions outside the UK. Vetting clearance cannot therefore be granted if the applicant has not been resident in the UK for the relevant minimum period and comparable vetting enquiries cannot be made in jurisdictions where the individual has been residing.
