We're working with a leading, well-established accountancy practice in Aberdeen that's looking to appoint an ambitious Private Client Tax Assistant Manager to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Personal Tax Assistant Manager who wants to move beyond routine compliance, develop their advisory expertise and benefit from a genuine fast-track promotion pathway.

With a growing and varied client portfolio, you'll gain exposure to more complex tax planning assignments, work closely with senior tax professionals and have the opportunity to shape your own career development.

The Opportunity

You'll take responsibility for managing a portfolio of private clients, delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services while supporting the development of junior colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a varied portfolio of private clients, including individuals with complex tax affairs.

• Reviewing personal tax returns and overseeing the compliance process.

• Identifying opportunities to provide proactive tax planning and advisory services.

• Gaining exposure to more complex matters, including Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax and wider personal tax planning.

• Building strong relationships with clients and providing commercially focused advice.

• Reviewing work, mentoring junior colleagues and supporting their professional development.

• Working closely with senior management on an expanding portfolio of advisory assignments.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Experience in Personal Tax or Private Client Tax within an accountancy practice.

• Ideally an ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA qualification, although qualified-by-experience candidates will also be considered.

• Experience preparing or reviewing personal tax returns.

• Strong client relationship skills and an interest in developing advisory expertise.

• The ambition to progress into a more senior role.

You don't need to be an established Assistant Manager. An ambitious Tax Senior who is ready for greater responsibility and progression would be equally welcome.
