Job Title: Procurement and Finance Officer role

Location: Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health Care NHS Trust, Finance

Hours: 37.5 hours Monday - Friday

What you’ll be responsible for:

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. Support the purchase to pay processes enabling the timely payment of invoices. Inclusive of supporting requisitioners to resolve purchase order and invoice notifications, receipting invoices, resolving purchase order holds and order queries so invoices are validated for payment in compliance with the Better Payment Practise Code (BPPC) targets.

2. Review and process purchase requisitions using the purchasing system, in line with the Trust’s scheme of delegation, procurement procedures, Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions.

3. The postholder must be able to deal with complex internal staff and supplier queries appropriately and promptly, referring them where required and must be able to maintain accounts payable procedures, ensuring they are accurate and adhere to the Trust Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs).

4. Negotiate with suppliers as necessary to achieve best value or to maintain consistency in contractual commitments (including deviations from agreed prices, delivery lead times and quality).

5. Running reports (PO workflow, interface rejection and others) to support the timely payment of invoices.

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

Skills:

· Proven experience of working in finance roles related to accounts payable and invoice payment.

· Extensive knowledge of the purchase to pay process.

· Proficient in Finance Systems such as NHS Shared Business Services, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.

· Good standard of education GCSE (Grade 3 and above in Maths and English), or NVQ level 3 qualification or proven equivalent experience.

· Experience of using Microsoft Office systems including Word, Excel and Outlook.

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
