We’re seeking a strategic and technically astute Procurement Manager to lead procurement activity within a complex, high-spec manufacturing environment. This is a key leadership role, responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing global supplier relationships, and driving innovation and cost efficiency across a technically demanding supply base.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead sourcing strategies for mechanical, electrical, and software-integrated components
Identify and onboard suppliers with CNC machining, robotics, and automation capabilities
Manage end-to-end supplier relationships across a global network
Lead high-value negotiations to secure cost-effective and quality-assured supply
Mitigate supplier risk and ensure compliance with global standards and regulations
Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, and Production to align procurement with development lifecycles
Drive cost-saving initiatives through value engineering and supplier-led innovation
Monitor global trends, emerging technologies, and supply chain risks
Implement and optimise ERP and e-sourcing tools
Ensure procurement processes are efficient, compliant, and well-governed
Lead and develop a team of Buyers and Purchase Administrators
Set performance targets and drive a culture of accountability and improvement
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or similar (CIPS desirable)
5–7+ years’ experience in procurement within high-tech/advanced manufacturing environments
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, BOMs, and routings
Proven success in sourcing precision-engineered components and negotiating complex contracts
Experienced in global supplier audits and contract management
Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and digital procurement platforms
Knowledge of MRP, resource allocation, leadership principles, and supply chain risk
Understanding of ISO standards and quality frameworks
Commercially minded with a strategic, analytical approach
Confident communicator, presenter, and stakeholder manager
Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and influencing
Ambitious, target-driven, and solutions-oriented
Strong team leadership and coaching ability
Able to operate in a fast-paced, innovation-led environment
