Production Operative

Location: Bentham, Lancashire – relocating to the Preston area
Salary: £14.23 per hour £27,757 per year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Overtime: Time and a half | Sundays: Double time (optional)

The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for Production Operatives to join a growing manufacturing team within the fire protection industry.

The role is initially based at the company's Bentham site, where you will receive training and become established within the operation.

As part of the company's planned growth and expansion, the business will be moving to a larger site in the Preston area. Successful candidates will therefore start their employment in Bentham and, once the new facility is ready, relocate with the company to the Preston site.

Working Hours

• Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00
• Friday: 07:30 – 13:00
• 37.5 hours per week
• Overtime available at time and a half
• Optional Sunday overtime paid at double time

Key Responsibilities

As a Production Operative, you will support a variety of manufacturing activities, including:

• Assembling fire suppression systems and components.
• Carrying out pressure testing and functional checks.
• Completing production records accurately.
• Assembling and filling suppression agent cylinders.
• Handling materials and chemical agents safely.
• Carrying out visual and quality inspections.
• Receiving, locating and storing materials.
• Picking components to support production requirements.
• Packing products safely for domestic and international shipment.

Previous experience in the following would be advantageous:

• Manufacturing
• Production
• Assembly
• Warehouse or stores
• Regulated manufacturing environments
• FLT operation

Full training will be provided.

Physical & Safety Requirements

This is a hands-on production role.
