Job Description:

• Job title: Electrical Engineer (experienced) x5
• Project: Hinkley Point C
• Office Base: Bridgwater office / later based on site
• Contract: Initial 6 months, likely to extend to 12 months and beyond
• Rate: Ideally £450–£550 per day  - Negotiable 
• IR35: Inside IR35
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Security Clearance: Ability to obtain BPSS clearance as a minimum

Role Overview:

As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will take responsibility for the cradle-to-grave delivery of major electrical packages, providing leadership across project coordination, client management, programme delivery, commercial performance, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

Acting as a key interface between the client, design teams, construction teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders, you will ensure that all aspects of package delivery are effectively managed from planning and procurement through installation, commissioning and final handover.

The role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, stakeholder management and a thorough understanding of quality and compliance requirements within highly regulated environments.

Project:

Hinkley Point C is one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, involving the construction of two new EPR nuclear reactors in Somerset. Once operational, the power station will generate 3,260MW of low-carbon electricity, enough to supply around six million homes for approximately 60 years.

Essential Requirements

1. Ability to obtain BPSS clearance as a minimum
2. CCNSG Safety Passport or HSE MAPS accreditation
3. HNC, HND or higher in a relevant engineering discipline
4. Electrical project delivery experience within major infrastructure, energy, nuclear, defence, rail, utilities or other highly regulated sectors
5. Full project lifecycle experience from design through to handover
6. Knowledge of project management and engineering/construction delivery
7. Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams
8. Experience working with Quality Assurance teams
9. Working knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction safety
10. Experience with LV, HV and MEP electrical systems

Project Delivery & Coordination

Lead electrical packages from design through installation, commissioning and handover

Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and delivery priorities

Electrical Engineering

Lead reviews of designs, specifications and engineering deliverables

Oversee design integration, constructability and technical issue resolution

Client & Stakeholder Management

Act as a key contact for clients and project stakeholders

Lead progress meetings, technical reviews and coordination meetings

Commercial & Package Management

Monitor performance against budget, programme and commercial targets

Quality & Compliance

Support Nuclear Quality Assurance requirements

Ensure quality documentation, inspections and audits are completed

Health, Safety & Nuclear Safety

Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and project

Support safety reviews, inspections and risk management
