Murphy is recruiting for a Project Engineer to work with the Transportation team based out of Golborne, with travel to project sites.

A Day in the Life of a Murphy Project Engineer
- Provide engineering support activities aligned with the CRE / Engineering Manager requirements under NR/L2/RSE/02009 and across Highway, Energy and Ports sectors, contributing to engineering assurance for earthworks, structures, drainage and multidisciplinary maintenance schemes
- Maintain a structured design delivery process to enable cost-effective, buildable and compliant designs delivered in line with programme requirements
- Provide technical input to Project Managers and site teams, contributing to planning, sequencing, constructability and management of engineering risks
- Review engineering designs and constructed works to confirm alignment with specifications, approved designs and relevant discipline standards
- Review construction methodologies and work packages prepared by project teams, including:
- Work Package Plans (WPPs)
- Task Briefing Sheets (TBS)
- Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Escalate technical or compliance issues to the CRE / Engineering Manager where required
- Contribute to engineering quality, assurance and best practice to support consistent and efficient delivery across projects
- Participate in design review meetings with clients, designers and supply chain partners, progressing actions and technical queries in line with project requirements
- Coordinate with designers, subcontractors and construction teams to manage technical queries, design changes and construction issues, ensuring timely resolution

- Experience making timely engineering decisions within design and construction environments and acting as a technical interface between project, design and client teams
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline
- Experience working within rail environments
- Knowledge of the application of NR/L2/RSE/02009 and NR/L2/CIV/003
- Knowledge of Temporary Works Coordination and BS5975:2019
- Effective team contributor able to operate in fast-paced project environments
