Job Description:
Our client is an established rail project management consultancy with a strong pipeline of secured commissions across Network Rail, HS2 and Train Operating Company (TOC) projects.
They are looking to appoint experienced Project Managers to join their growing team, working across a varied portfolio of rail infrastructure and operational projects. Commissions range from shorter 3-6 month assignments to major programmes lasting 12-24+ months, offering exposure to different clients, project stages and delivery environments.
As such, you'll need to be adaptable, commercially aware and comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, with the flexibility to move between commissions as project requirements change.
The business is an SME with a professional, collaborative and down-to-earth culture. You'll be joining a close-knit team where people are trusted to get on with their jobs, support one another and genuinely enjoy being part of the business. Regular team-building and social events are also an important part of the company culture.
Remote working is standard, with attendance at the office and/or client locations typically required 1-2 days per month, depending on project requirements.
Essential: - Project management experience within the rail sector, ideally across Network Rail, HS2 or TOC projects.
- Experience delivering projects through GRIP, RIBA or comparable project lifecycles.
- Good understanding of railway operational and safety requirements, including works undertaken during possessions.
- Experience procuring and managing contractors, consultants and suppliers on behalf of clients.
- Strong client, stakeholder and project delivery management skills.
- A recognised project management qualification or professional membership, such as APM or PRINCE2, either held or currently working towards.
Desirable: - Experience working within or alongside a Train Operating Company (TOC).
- Experience managing multiple commissions or working within a consultancy environment.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts or similar.
- Degree, HND or HNC in a relevant discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
