Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major contractor delivering a substantial package of works associated with Hinkley Point C.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for stability and longevity, with a strong pipeline of work through to the end of 2027. The position will primarily be based from the project office in the Bridgwater area, with travel to the HPC site only expected approximately once every two weeks.

The project involves the construction of four high-specification concrete-framed buildings, including delivery of the cladding.

Working under an NEC3 Option C target cost contract, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of your packages, with a particularly strong focus on change management and financial reporting.

The project is already managing a significant volume of change, currently around the 600-change mark, so we are particularly interested in commercially strong QSs that are comfortable working within complex, change-intensive Tier 1 environments.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing commercial activities across major concrete, building envelope and associated construction packages
• Taking ownership of NEC3 Option C change management
• Managing and maintaining a high volume of compensation events and commercial change
• Producing accurate and detailed financial reporting, forecasting and cost control
• Supporting the wider commercial team and mentoring two Junior Quantity Surveyors
• Working closely with project delivery, engineering and commercial stakeholders
• Managing subcontractor commercial matters and maintaining strong commercial governance throughout delivery
• Supporting the project through to completion while protecting the contractor's commercial position

We are looking for a QS or SQS who can demonstrate:

• Quantity Surveying qualification or similar
• Strong NEC contract experience, ideally NEC3 Option C
• Excellent change management experience on complex construction or infrastructure projects
• Strong financial reporting, forecasting and commercial management capability
• Previous experience working for a Tier 1 or large principal contractor
• Major project or complex construction experience
• JV experience would be advantageous, although it is not essential
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior commercial staff
• A stable employment/contract history demonstrating longevity on projects
• A contractor-side background rather than predominantly client-side or consultancy experience
• Eligibility to obtain BPSS clearance
