Job Description:

C&P Recruitment are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established demolition company based in East Kilbride.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with 5+ years' experience to take responsibility for the commercial management of demolition and associated construction projects.
The successful candidate will be confident managing projects from tender through to completion and will have strong experience in cost control, valuations, variations, subcontractor management and final accounts.

Key responsible

• Managing the commercial aspects of demolition projects from start to completion.
• Preparing and reviewing tenders, budgets and cost plans.
• Monitoring project costs, expenditure and profitability.
• Preparing valuations and applications for payment.
• Managing variations and change control.
• Reviewing, negotiating and agreeing subcontractor accounts.
• Preparing and agreeing final accounts.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Producing regular cost and commercial reports.
• Working closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensuring projects are commercially controlled and delivered within budget.

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Previous experience within demolition, construction, civil engineering, groundworks or a similar environment.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Experience managing subcontractors, variations, valuations and final accounts.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Good IT and Excel skills.
• A proactive approach to commercial management.

Previous demolition experience would be highly advantageous or civils background.
