- Managing procurement, material costs and subcontract package orders.
- Monitoring project costs, expenditure and commercial performance against budget.
- Liaising with main contractors, clients, developers and internal operational teams.
- Working alongside Contracts Managers and site teams to ensure commercial and operational requirements are aligned.
- Reviewing brickwork quantities, labour outputs, material usage and project productivity.
- Supporting commercial negotiations, contractual discussions and final account agreements.
- Managing multiple projects and ensuring commercial deadlines are achieved.
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting project financial performance.
- Supporting the commercial handover of projects and ensuring contractual obligations are understood.
- Identifying opportunities to improve commercial processes, cost control and overall project performance.
The ideal candidate will have/be: - Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a brickwork contractor or specialist construction subcontractor.
- A strong understanding of brickwork packages, construction methods and site environments.

- The ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contract documentation and project requirements.
- Experience preparing valuations, variations, cost reports and final accounts.
- A commercially aware approach, with an understanding of labour, material, subcontract and project costs.
- Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies or commercial risks.
- Confidence communicating with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively to deadlines.
- A proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership of commercial responsibilities.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and relevant commercial software.
- A relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification would be advantageous, although practical brickwork commercial experience is particularly important.
The opportunity: This is a great opportunity to join an established specialist contractor with a strong presence across the South East and an ongoing portfolio of residential and commercial projects.
You'll be working on a varied range of brickwork packages, providing exposure to different construction environments and the opportunity to develop your commercial expertise within a specialist trade.
Our client is looking for someone who can take ownership of their projects, contribute to commercial decisions and work closely with the wider team to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.
For an experienced Brickwork Quantity Surveyor, this represents an opportunity to join a well-established business where technical knowledge, commercial judgement and attention to detail are genuinely valued.
The business has a collaborative, hands-on approach, with an emphasis on quality, teamwork and delivering projects properly.
Salary will be dependent on experience.
