Job Description:

1st Step Solutions are looking for a motivated and proactive Recruitment Resourcer to join our busy team based in Basildon. This is a varied and fast-paced role, offering the opportunity to develop your recruitment, resourcing, business development and industry knowledge while supporting the successful delivery of our M&E recruitment services.

Reporting directly to Davinia Farr, Director/Owner, you will play a key role in sourcing and placing suitable candidates, maintaining strong relationships with clients and operatives, ensuring compliance requirements are met and helping to grow and strengthen our candidate database. We are looking for someone who is organised, confident, commercially aware and able to take ownership of their workload while working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• To be the first point of contact for filling all new jobs received.
• Obtaining site information and instruction from clients and to set up new operatives ensuring that rates etc are correct from the outset to avoid/minimise payroll queries.
• Ensure that all operatives meet 1st Step requirements before putting them out to work and take responsibility for ensuring that any outstanding documents are chased.
• Pro-active resourcing, to be aware of upcoming projects and strengthen database in areas of weakness, through advertising, social networking and using the existing database to create awareness.
• Actively maintain and improve upon current database.
• Build upon 1st Step’s profile within the industry.
• To gain an awareness of the industry, other projects in the sector, current pay rates and industry related topics.
• Be aware of company procedures and legal obligations relating to the recruitment services we provide.
• To gain a competent level of understanding of the laws and restrictions surrounding UK employment law and individuals right to work in the UK.
• To have an active participation in developing and improving current working practices and administrative tasks.
• Report statistics on daily, weekly and monthly performance against agreed targets.

Financial Responsibility

• To ensure that every effort is made to fill all vacancies, and any vacancies that cannot be filled or are proving difficult must have reasons and possible solutions brought to the attention of the senior consultant or account manager without delay
• Follow strict credit control procedures.
• Work within agreed budgets on all areas of expenditure including personal expenses, advertising, texting and mobile phone calls.

Soft Sales / Business Development & Marketing

• Build strong relationships with clients at site level and report on other possible business opportunities.
• Assist, where required, in organising 1st Step corporate events.
• Understand the client’s requirements as well as their work practices to ensure our services are supplied in line with client expectations.
• Work in conjunction with the whole team to raise the positive profile of 1st Step Solutions.

Daily Tasks

• Advertise and search for candidates by using all resources openly available to you in line with any assigned budgets.
• Resourcing of candidates – checking qualifications, explaining job specs and referencing.
• Lead generation and researching.
• Checking temporary workers have arrived on site either by telephone or in person (where deemed necessary).
• Actively identify weak areas of resource and improve on these during quiet periods.
• Contacting clients and operatives on a regular basis to ensure any issues are resolved promptly.
• Register new candidates as and when required.
• Conducting service and candidate appraisals to ensure high level of service maintained.
• Utilise the existing database of candidates in line with the training you are given to fulfil client requires and ensure consistent recording of information.
• Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls, conveying a professional manner at all times.
• Uploading documents on operative files.
• Enduring that qualification expiry dates are inputted correctly and kept up to date.
• Chasing missing paperwork from operatives by phone.
• Dealing with resolving general phone enquiries and payroll issues.
• Other adhoc duties as required by the business.
