Location: East Staffordshire. Ideally located for candidates based in Burton upon Trent, Swadlincote, Derby, Lichfield, Tamworth, Ashby-de-la-Zouch
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Benefits including bonus, PHI and pension

We're looking for a passionate and influential Safety, Health & Environmental Manager who thrives on being visible within an operational environment. Someone who enjoys spending time on the shop floor, building relationships, coaching leaders and positively influencing behaviours at every level of the organisation.

This role suits someone who understands that exceptional safety performance isn't built on systems alone, but on trust, engagement, accountability, and a culture where people choose to do the right thing.

The Role

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll be responsible for leading the site's health, safety and environmental agenda whilst championing a people-first approach to safety.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Driving behavioural and cultural health and safety initiatives across the business.
• Building credibility and engagement with colleagues at all levels.
• Coaching and developing managers to strengthen safety leadership.
• Maintaining a highly visible presence across operational areas.
• Identifying opportunities to further improve standards, engagement and performance.
• Promoting a proactive culture focused on ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Leading incident investigations and ensuring lessons learned are effectively communicated.
• Monitoring performance and using data to support decision-making.
• Ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.

About You

We're looking for a confident and influential HSE professional who can balance strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach.

You'll likely bring:

• Significant Health & Safety experience within FMCG, manufacturing or another fast-paced operational environment.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification (or studying towards).
• A proven track record of driving positive health and safety behavioural and cultural change.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The credibility to engage with both senior leaders and front-line teams.
• A collaborative and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
• A genuine passion for developing people and improving workplace culture.
