Job Title: School Cleaner

About the Role
Horizon Teachers is building a team of reliable, hard-working cleaners to work in schools across [area]. As part of this team, you’ll help keep classrooms, corridors and shared spaces clean, safe and welcoming for pupils and staff. This role suits someone who takes pride in their work and wants regular, local hours that fit around the school day.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning classrooms, offices, halls, corridors and staff areas to a high standard
• Cleaning and restocking toilets and washrooms
• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
• Emptying bins and recycling
• Wiping down desks, door handles and other high-touch surfaces
• Using cleaning products and equipment safely, in line with COSHH guidelines
• Reporting any repairs, hazards or safeguarding concerns to the site team
• Securing rooms and following the school’s site and security procedures

Requirements

• Previous cleaning experience, ideally in schools or commercial settings (desirable but not essential)
• Reliable, punctual and able to follow a set routine
• Good attention to detail and pride in a job well done
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working in an environment with children, including pupils with special educational needs
• Right to work in the UK
