Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant – Pinner
Location: Pinner, North West London
Start Date: ASAP / September Start Available
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

A specialist secondary SEN provision in Pinner is seeking dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with a range of complex additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their potential.

About the Role

As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN
• Support learners with needs such as Autism (ASC), SLD, SEMH, and communication difficulties
• Assist with engagement, behaviour regulation, and emotional support
• Deliver support through structured, sensory, and practical learning activities
• Help students with life skills, independence, and personal development
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Support the implementation of EHCP targets and individual learning plans
• Contribute to a safe, consistent, and positive learning environment

Requirements

• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils or SEN settings
• Strong understanding of behaviour support and de-escalation strategies
• Patient, calm, and resilient approach
• Ability to build strong, positive relationships with young people
• Willingness to support personal care if required
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable

• Experience with ASC, SEMH, SLD, or complex needs
• Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or AAC systems
• Background in youth work, care, or specialist education
