Role Overview

This role supports a UK Public Sector business by delivering personnel security and managing the daily administrative duties of a secure facility. This position offers an opportunity for a proactive individual to develop new skills within an established team. The role is based full-time in Reading, with the possibility of occasional travel to a London office.

Key Responsibilities

• Process BPSS and SC vetting applications and support general vetting administration.
• Deliver a range of security-related administrative activities.
• Act as the primary security point of contact for facility users and visitors.
• Manage and action items from group mailboxes for vetting and secure facility support.
• Verify the legitimate and compliant use of the facility.
• Escort contractors during maintenance and related activities.
• Provide office cover for the security team as needed.
• Assist with security audits, inspections, and reviews.

Required Qualifications

• Must have lived in the UK for the last 5 years and be able to hold a minimum of SC security clearance.
• Experience in a business administration environment.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to support colleagues.
• Professional communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively at all levels.
• Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and prioritize tasks.
• Collaborative team player with effective relationship-building skills.
• Trusted to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Defence Sector, Central and Local Government.
• Knowledge of the UK National Vetting System.
• Experience with CRM systems or general office duties.
