Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7 on a rotational 24/7 shift system
(06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 / 22:00–06:00)

Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking an experienced Security & Wellbeing Services Manager to support a specialist, healthcare-focused operational team within a major NHS hospital environment.
Job Overview
This is not a traditional security guarding role. The position operates within a Safe and Wellbeing service, supporting clinical environments where patients may present with complex needs, including mental health challenges, distress, or behaviours that may escalate and present risk to themselves, staff, or others.
The role is central to maintaining a safe, calm, and well-managed environment, enabling clinical teams to deliver effective patient care. The Operations Manager will provide strong leadership across a 24/7 service, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patients, staff, and visitors while working in close partnership with healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Security & Wellbeing service within a healthcare environment
- Support and manage teams working in environments involving distress, behavioural escalation, and mental health-related incidents
- Ensure safe, structured, and effective responses to incidents involving risk to staff, patients, or visitors
- Work closely with clinical and operational stakeholders to maintain safe and supportive patient care environments
- Manage staffing levels, shift allocation, and operational continuity across a 24/7 rotational service
- Monitor service delivery, performance standards, and compliance with operational procedures
- Conduct incident reviews and risk assessments, contributing to continuous service improvement
- Maintain accurate operational reporting and clear communication with senior stakeholders
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in people management within operational or frontline environments
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and structured under pressure
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience managing teams and delivering service within a structured operational setting
- Willingness and flexibility to work a rotational shift pattern, including nights and weekends
- Strong commitment to training, development, and continuous improvement
Desirable
- Experience within healthcare, mental health, or other public-facing operational services
- Background in security, safety, or incident response
- Experience managing large teams or 24/7 operational environments
- Understanding of safeguarding or risk-based service delivery
