SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Chichester

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full Time

Salary: £95 - £100 per day

About The Role

We are seeking to appoint a high quality, compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to provide maternity cover at a specialist SEMH setting for boys aged 7–16 years, located in a peaceful countryside setting close to Chichester

They are seeking an energetic and resilient Teaching Assistant with high expectations and a passion for supporting children with special educational needs. What will you do:

• To support working relationship with the pupils, acting as role model and setting high expectations.
• To support pupils with special educational needs through the delivery of specific learning programmes to contribute to setting individual education plan targets and to reviews.
• To monitor and evaluate pupils’ responses to learning activities and note their progress towards targets.
• To advance learning when working with individuals, small groups and whole classes without the presence of the assigned Teacher.

• Able to work collaboratively and cooperatively with colleagues
• Understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities.
• Able to relate well to children and adults to build and maintain effective relationships.
• Committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
