SEN Cover Supervisor - Supply Opportunities Across a Wakefield School Trust

Salary: £95 - £120 per day (dependent on experience, availability, and school requirements)

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking confident and adaptable SEN Cover Supervisors to work on a supply basis across a well-established trust of schools in Wakefield.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced education professionals looking for flexible work while making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work across a variety of school settings, supervising classes and supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, and other SEND requirements.

As an SEN Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities may include:

• Supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.
• Delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring pupils remain engaged with their learning.
• Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs to access learning activities.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Providing individual and small group support where required.
• Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support pupil progress and wellbeing.

• Previous experience working within an educational setting.
• Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Confidence leading groups of pupils and delivering pre-set work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A flexible and proactive approach to working across different school environments.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Daily rates typically range from £95 to £120 per day, depending on experience, availability, and the specific requirements of the school.

Candidates looking to achieve the higher end of the pay scale will generally need to demonstrate significant experience working within SEND environments, strong classroom management skills, and be available to work on a full-time basis. Final pay rates will also be influenced by the individual needs of the school and the nature of the role being undertaken.
