SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools | Sheffield

The Supply Register is recruiting experienced and passionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Sheffield in partnership with L.E.A.D. Academy Trust.

We have immediate opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, short-term and long-term placements. This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated education professionals who want to support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND and additional learning needs

• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development

• Implement appropriate learning and behaviour support strategies

• Encourage independence, confidence and positive classroom engagement

• Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to maintain an inclusive learning environment

Essential Skills and Experience

We're looking for candidates who have:

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs

• An understanding of SEND support strategies and inclusive education

• Strong communication, interpersonal and behaviour management skills

• A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach

• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

• A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children
