Job Description:
The Head Teacher of a Primary School in Accrington is looking for a confident and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to join there team to support in their SEND pod. The school is 2 form entry and offers a warm and welcoming environment for staff and children.
The role will be long term and requires somebody who has previous SEND experience and is able to commit to the role and offer consistancy.

Primary Teaching Assistant role requirements: - Previous experience working with children or youn people with SEND is essentil
• Experience supporting pupils within a primary school setting
• Understanding of the primary curriculum (EYFS, KS1 or KS2)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, proactive and supportive approach
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will: - Support pupils in the schools Pod, small groups out of the classroom
- • Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Encourage pupil engagement and participation
• Support behaviour management using positive strategies
• Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
