SEND Teaching Assistant - Primary SEN School (Complex Needs)

Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our specialist primary SEN school in Stockport. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with complex learning difficulties, autism, communication needs, and physical disabilities in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide high-quality care and education for pupils with a range of complex needs. You will play a vital role in helping children achieve their individual learning, social, and personal development goals.

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions.
• Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, and social development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to support pupil progress.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
• Provide personal care support, including toileting, changing, feeding, and hygiene assistance where required.
• Promote the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of all pupils.

• Experience working with children with SEND, preferably within a school, care, or support setting.
• Knowledge or understanding of complex needs, autism spectrum conditions, and communication difficulties.
• A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A willingness to undertake personal care duties as part of the role.
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
