SEND Teaching Assistant

Are you a skilled and resilient practitioner with a passion for supporting children with SEND and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)?
We are seeking committed and highly capable SEND Teaching Assistants (Level 3 qualified or equivalent) to work across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, delivering targeted interventions and personalised support for pupils with a range of additional needs and EHCP provision.
This role is focused on improving outcomes through carefully planned, evidence-informed intervention work and high-quality 1:1 differentiated learning. You will support children with ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, cognition and learning difficulties, communication needs, and physical and sensory needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop attention and focus, emotional regulation, independence and confidence through tailored breakout sessions and targeted EHCP support.

The Role
You will work closely with class teachers, the SENDCo and the wider SEND team to deliver and adapt targeted interventions that enhance pupil progress and remove barriers to learning. A significant aspect of this role involves supporting pupils with EHCPs through personalised provision, structured interventions and consistent emotional and academic support.
Your responsibilities may include:
This is a proactive, hands-on role requiring experience of working with primary-aged children, strong initiative and the ability to adapt strategies to meet individual needs. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is essential, and experience supporting pupils with EHCPs and SEND in a primary setting is highly desirable.

Salary & Working Hours
Salary Scale: Grade 5, Points 11–14
£28,142 – £29,540 FTE per annum (pro rata)
Pay award pending April 2026
Working Hours:
8:45am – 3:15pm, Monday to Friday
We will consider a range of hours/days within this timeframe.
