Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Salary: £95 - £110 per day

TeacherActive is recruiting dedicated and reliable SEND Teaching Assistants interested in working with schools across Hull and the wider area.

We are keen to hear from candidates who have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), whether in a mainstream school, specialist provision or another relevant setting.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you could be supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, social and emotional needs or other additional learning needs.

Responsibilities may include providing 1:1 support, assisting with small-group activities, helping pupils access classroom learning and working alongside teachers to create a positive and inclusive environment.

We recruit for day-to-day supply, short-term cover and longer-term placements, depending on school requirements and candidate availability.

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school or relevant setting

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential

• An understanding of additional learning needs and inclusive support strategies

• Confidence providing 1:1 or small-group support

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

• A patient, adaptable and reliable approach

• An understanding of safeguarding and the importance of pupil wellbeing

All staff are paid on a PAYE basis, with the correct TAX and National Insurance deductions and no additional admin charges taken from your pay.
