Senior Business Development Manager

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Salary: £70,000 per annum
Working Pattern: Office-based with the potential for a hybrid arrangement for the right candidate

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join a growing and ambitious organisation within the packaging sector. This role is focused on developing and managing relationships with major national accounts and delivering commercial growth through strategic business development.

We are seeking a commercially minded sales professional who understands the complexities of supplying branded packaging solutions to large-scale customers and has a proven track record of winning, growing, and managing high-value accounts.

The Role

As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in expanding existing partnerships and securing new opportunities with major brands. You will be responsible for managing significant customer relationships, driving revenue growth, and acting as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders.

Whilst this is a senior position, there are no direct reports, allowing you to focus entirely on strategic account development and key account management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with large national and international accounts.
  
  
• Identify and secure new business opportunities across relevant markets.
  
  
• Drive sales growth across branded packaging solutions.
  
  
• Manage complex customer requirements from initial discussions through to implementation.
  
  
• Build long-term strategic partnerships with key decision-makers.
  
  
• Work closely with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer service and project execution.
  
  
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.

About You

• Proven experience within a Business Development Manager, Senior Business Development Manager, or National Account Manager role.
  
  
• Essential: Previous experience working for a packaging supplier.
  
  
• Essential: Experience operating in a quick sales response environment, demonstrating the ability to react rapidly to customer requirements, quotations, project timelines, and changing business demands.
  
  
• Strong experience managing and growing relationships with large, high-profile accounts.
  
  
• Solid understanding of branded packaging solutions and customer expectations.
  
  
• Demonstrable success in generating new business and developing existing accounts.
  
  
• Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  
  
• Self-motivated, driven, and capable of operating at a strategic level.
  
  
• Comfortable taking ownership of major customer accounts and delivering results independently.
