Senior Business Development Manager – Cleaning & Security

Remote – Covering South & South East England (Essex, Kent, Hertfordshire, Sussex, Hampshire & Home Counties)

£55,000 - £60,000 Basic + Uncapped Commission + Business Mileage + Wider Benefits

On offer is an exciting opportunity to join the specialist Retail division of an established Facilities Management group, delivering Cleaning & Security services into Shopping Centres, Retail Parks and wider retail destinations. With a turnover of c£23m, the division combines the backing of a much larger organisation with the flexibility, personality and hands on leadership of a smaller business.

Having already secured several significant contracts across the South East, the business is now looking to build on this success and establish a stronger presence throughout Southern England. Working closely with the Joint Managing Directors and an experienced Operations team, you will take ownership of new business development across the region, supported by an existing telemarketing function generating regular opportunities. This is a fantastic opportunity for a resourceful, proactive salesperson who enjoys building relationships from the ground up, identifying opportunities others may miss and seeing the direct impact of their success.

Key Duties

• Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities across South & South East England, targeting Shopping Centres, Retail Parks and retail destinations
• Manage your own sales pipeline and take ownership of an annual new business revenue target of £1.5m–£2m
• Sell Cleaning & Security solutions, developing tailored service offerings to meet the operational and commercial requirements of prospective clients
• Build relationships with Shopping Centre Managers, Property Managing Agents, Facilities Managers, Landlords and key decisionmakers
• Undertake proactive market research, prospecting and site visits to identify opportunities and develop relationships within target locations
• Work alongside the internal Telemarketing team to qualify and convert incoming opportunities, whilst independently generating your own pipeline
• Collaborate with the Operations and Estimating teams to develop commercially competitive proposals, tenders and solutions
• Lead client meetings, presentations and commercial negotiations through to contract award

Experience Required

• Previous experience in Business Development, B2B Sales or a similar commercially focused role
• Experience selling Cleaning OR Security services
• A proven track record of generating new business, developing relationships and winning profitable contracts
• A proactive, self-disciplined and resourceful approach to identifying and developing sales opportunities
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of solution selling and contract-based services
• Willingness to travel regularly throughout South & South East England to develop relationships and identify new opportunities
