I’m recruiting for an experienced Senior Design Manager to join a leading specialist construction and engineering contractor, initially working on a major data centre project in Acton.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working on complex projects, leading from the front and finding smart solutions when things inevitably get complicated.

The Role You’ll take a senior lead across design management, working with clients, consultants and project teams to make sure the design is delivered properly, safely, commercially and on programme.

You’ll be involved in:

• Leading multidisciplinary design teams
• Managing design delivery, governance and assurance
• Identifying and managing design risks and opportunities
• Driving value engineering and design optimisation
• Managing design changes and commercial impacts
• Working closely with clients, consultants and project leadership
• Mentoring and developing Design Managers and Assistant Design Managers
• Ensuring technical, contractual and regulatory requirements are met

What I’m Looking For You’ll need solid experience as a Senior Design Manager on major or complex construction projects, with the confidence to lead teams and influence senior stakeholders.

Experience within data centres, defence, energy or other technically demanding environments would be highly advantageous.
You’ll ideally have:

• Degree or equivalent qualification
• Relevant industry qualification – RIBA, CIOB, ICE or equivalent
• Chartered status desirable
• CSCS
• Strong technical and commercial awareness
• A proven track record in design management and value engineering
