An established and growing building-services consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer with a strong background in residential and high-rise developments.
This is an opportunity to take a leading role across a substantial portfolio of residential projects, overseeing electrical design from initial concept through to detailed technical design and construction.
Working on complex, large-scale residential schemes, you'll have the autonomy to lead projects, influence design decisions and work closely with clients, architects, developers and contractors.
And the real attraction? The position is fully remote, with no office attendance required. Travel is limited to site visits and project meetings when necessary.
The opportunity You'll take ownership of multiple live residential developments, leading the electrical design process and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standards.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading electrical building-services design across large-scale residential and high-rise developments.
• Taking projects from concept design through to detailed design, coordination and construction.
• Managing electrical design packages across multiple live schemes.
• Producing and reviewing calculations, specifications, schematics, layouts and technical schedules.
• Overseeing power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm and life-safety systems.
• Coordinating electrical design with mechanical, public health, architectural and structural disciplines.
• Providing technical leadership, design checking and quality assurance.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, developers, architects and contractors.
• Supporting and mentoring engineers while maintaining high standards of technical delivery.

What we're looking for

• Strong experience within a building-services design consultancy.
• A substantial track record delivering residential building-services projects, ideally including high-rise and high-density developments.
• Experience leading electrical design from concept through to construction.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical building-services systems and relevant regulations.
• Confident managing client relationships and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• The ability to take ownership of projects and provide technical direction.
• Chartered status, or working towards it, would be advantageous.
