Senior Remote Support Engineer (Electro/Mechanical) Watford, Hertfordshire (Office Based – Monday to Friday) Salary: £58,500 - £65,000 + Benefits

Our client, a leading manufacturer of complex electro-mechanical equipment, is embarking on an exciting period of growth and is creating a brand-new Remote Technical Support Team based at their UK Head Office in Watford.
As part of this expansion, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Remote Support Engineer who will play a pivotal role in establishing the team, supporting engineers across the UK and helping shape future processes and technical standards.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to move into a senior technical position where you’ll combine hands-on engineering knowledge with remote diagnostics, mentoring and problem-solving.
The Role
Working from the Watford office, you will act as the highest level of technical support for both field engineers and customers, diagnosing and resolving complex issues across sophisticated electro-mechanical equipment.
You’ll collaborate with engineering, software and operational teams to ensure faults are resolved quickly while helping develop the capability of a growing support function.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing advanced remote technical support to field engineers
Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and software-related faults
Supporting installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance activities
Escalating and resolving complex technical issues
Developing troubleshooting guides and technical documentation
Coaching and mentoring junior engineers
Working closely with engineering and product development teams to improve product performance
Helping establish best practice within the new support department
About You
We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems and has experience working across multiple engineering disciplines.
You’ll ideally have:
Strong electro-mechanical engineering experience
Excellent electrical fault-finding ability
Good mechanical engineering knowledge
An understanding of software, networking and IT systems
Experience supporting complex automated equipment
Excellent communication skills
The ability to mentor and support other engineers
A methodical approach to fault diagnosis
Candidates who began their careers in mechanical or electrical engineering before developing software or systems knowledge would be particularly well suited.
